KYC and Verification

Why We Verify Your Identity

At Spinko, maintaining a secure, fair, and responsible gaming environment is paramount. We are committed to preventing fraud, money laundering, and underage gambling. Verifying your identity is a crucial step in fulfilling these commitments. It ensures that your account is genuinely yours, protects your funds, and helps us comply with the legal and regulatory obligations imposed by our licensing authority and international anti-money laundering (AML) directives. This process safeguards both Spinko and our valued players.

What KYC (Know Your Customer) Means

KYC, or "Know Your Customer," refers to the mandatory process of identifying and verifying the identity of our customers. This is a standard practice across regulated financial services and online gaming industries worldwide. For Spinko, KYC means we collect and verify specific personal information and documentation from you. This allows us to understand who our players are, assess potential risks, and ensure that our services are not used for illicit activities. It is a cornerstone of our operational integrity and regulatory compliance.

When Verification Is Required

Identity verification may be requested at various stages of your relationship with Spinko. Typically, it is initiated:

  • Upon registration of a new account.
  • Before your first withdrawal, or when cumulative withdrawals reach a certain threshold.
  • When there are changes to your personal information.
  • If there are suspicious or unusual activities detected on your account.
  • Periodically, as part of our ongoing due diligence process, to ensure the information we hold remains current and accurate.
  • When cumulative deposits or betting activity exceed specific regulatory limits.

We reserve the right to request verification at any time, in accordance with our terms and conditions and regulatory obligations.

Documents You May Be Asked to Provide

To complete the verification process, you may be asked to provide several types of documents. These typically fall into categories such as proof of identity, proof of address, and proof of payment method. All documents must be valid, current, and clearly legible. We will provide specific instructions on how to submit these securely.

Proof of Identity

To confirm your identity, we require a clear, colour copy of one of the following government-issued photographic identification documents:

  • Passport (photo page)
  • National Identity Card (front and back)
  • Driver's Licence (front and back)

The document must show your full name, date of birth, photograph, signature, and an expiry date that is still valid. The entire document, including all four corners, must be visible in the image. Please ensure there are no reflections or obstructions.

Proof of Address

To verify your residential address, we require a clear copy of a document issued within the last three months that displays your full name and current address. Acceptable documents include:

  • Utility bill (e.g., electricity, water, gas, landline phone, internet bill)
  • Bank statement or credit card statement
  • Government-issued tax document

Mobile phone bills are generally not accepted. The document must be dated within the last 90 days. Please ensure the entire document is visible and all details are clearly readable. PO Box addresses are not acceptable as proof of residence.

Payment Method Verification

To verify the ownership of the payment methods used on your Spinko account, additional documentation may be required. This helps prevent unauthorized use of financial instruments. Depending on the method, this may include:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: A copy of the front of the card, showing the first six and last four digits of the card number, your name, and the expiry date. The middle eight digits should be obscured for security. The CVV/CVC code on the back must also be obscured.
  • E-wallets (e.g., Skrill, Neteller): A screenshot of your e-wallet account profile page, clearly showing your name and the associated email address or account ID.
  • Bank Transfers: A copy of a bank statement showing your name, account number, and the bank's logo. Transaction details can be obscured.

The name on the payment method must match the name registered on your Spinko account.

Source of Funds and Enhanced Due Diligence

In certain circumstances, particularly when transactions involve significant amounts, Spinko is legally obligated to conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and verify the source of your funds (SOF). This is a crucial part of our anti-money laundering obligations. You may be asked to provide documentation demonstrating the origin of your wealth or funds, such as:

  • Payslips or employment contract.
  • Bank statements showing accumulated savings.
  • Proof of inheritance or sale of assets (e.g., property, shares).
  • Tax returns.
  • Business ownership documentation.

The specific documents requested will depend on your individual circumstances. This process is conducted with the utmost confidentiality and is a standard requirement for regulated operators like Spinko.

The Verification Process and Timeframes

Once you submit your documents through our secure portal, our dedicated verification team will review them. We aim to process all verification requests as quickly as possible. Typically, this takes between 24 to 72 hours, though it may take longer during peak periods or if additional information is required. You will be notified via email or through your Spinko account when your documents have been reviewed and your verification status updated. Incomplete or unclear submissions will cause delays, so please ensure all documents meet the specified requirements.

Keeping Your Documents Safe

Spinko employs robust security measures to protect your personal information and submitted documents. All data is encrypted and stored securely in compliance with data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Access to your documents is strictly limited to authorized personnel involved in the verification process. We will never share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your privacy and data security are of the highest importance to us.

Anti-Money Laundering Compliance

Spinko is fully committed to combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Our KYC and verification procedures are integral to our comprehensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policy. We adhere strictly to the guidelines and regulations set forth by our licensing authority and international bodies. This includes monitoring transactions, reporting suspicious activities to the relevant authorities, and maintaining detailed records of customer identification. By verifying your identity, we help ensure that Spinko remains a safe and legitimate platform for online gaming.

Age Verification and Protecting Minors

Underage gambling is strictly prohibited. Spinko operates a zero-tolerance policy towards individuals under the legal gambling age. Our verification process includes rigorous age checks to ensure that only individuals who are 18 years or older, or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction, can access and use our services. Any accounts found to belong to minors will be immediately closed, and any winnings forfeited. This commitment is fundamental to our responsible gaming principles and legal obligations.

If Verification Is Delayed or Unsuccessful

If there are delays in your verification, it is often due to unclear documents, missing information, or a high volume of requests. We will contact you to request any further details needed. If verification is ultimately unsuccessful, for example, if the provided documents are deemed fraudulent or do not meet our requirements, your Spinko account may be suspended or closed. We will always communicate the reasons for any such decision, subject to legal and regulatory constraints. We encourage you to respond promptly to any requests for information to avoid interruptions to your account.
